Owning a car

Fuel tax, road tax, insurance, MoTs, maintenance, repairs, car park fees, resident parking permits, parking fines, congestion charges, constant surveillance, speed cameras, aggressive tailgaters, ever-rising petrol prices, road rage, stress, traffic jams in searing heat, mobile phone bans, no alcohol on a night out, tedious hours spent on motorways, and the realisation that if I lose concentration for just half a second, I could kill someone...

No, I'm giving up my car, thank you.

Bike, bus, train, and hire cars/car clubs for the times it's really necessary. Surely the better options?
